Memory to celebrate 25 years

I have been a member since the establishment of the club. In fact, I bought my share in 1999, so I am a founding shareholder. When the course was still being built, I brought my youngest son, Oscar, who was born in 2000, to walk part of the course with me in a Baby Bjorn. 16 years later, he won the Vuosaari Club Championships (Men's Open division) and then again last year in 2025.

My whole family has enjoyed the golf club in one way or another. My two boys, Alex and Oscar, learned to play here and became quite good golfers, playing the junior tour events and representing Vuosaari in many competitions. Oscar went on to win the Finnish Junior Championships at age 14 and 16 and then later got a scholarship to play college golf in the USA for 4 years.

My wife has caddied for me many times in golf competitions at Vuosaari and while my daughter doesn't play, she has walked the course many times as her dog Lenny loves it. In fact, it is his favourite place.

We have all enjoyed the welcoming and friendly atmosphere at the club. As an Australian, it has been really nice to make Finnish friends here, and I have made many at Vuosaari. In fact, I think it has been an important part of feeling at home here in Finland. It has also given me something to look forward to during the long and dark Finnish winters. I really look forward to the start of the golf season each spring - it is a sign I have survived one more winter:)

I also want to say that I love the course. I love links golf and Vuosaari is the best links course in Finland. To top it off, this year it is in the best condition it has ever been! So I want to thank the club for creating and developing such a course.

Finally, to all the friendly people I have gotten to know "enjoying" the challenge of Vuosaari Golf course, thank you for making me feel welcome. My family and I appreciate it very much!
